Father and his eight year old daughter live what appears to be a normal life awaiting their missing mother who keeps sending them letters of her rehabilitation and return. In their routine they are helped by their father's friend, evidently in love with him. After the daughter has a school incident regarding her mother's disappearance, long ignored questions of her fate cannot remain unanswered.
